Groundskeeper

Groundskeeper, Buckinghamshire
  
150-acre private estate in Buckinghamshire requires an experienced Groundskeeper to join the team.
  
You will be responsible for the upkeep and maintenance of tree plantations, ponds, fields, wildflower meadows, hedgerows, ancient woodland and fencing/gates.
  
Working alongside another groundskeeper who manages other areas of the estate, you will be expected to assist each other as and when required.  
  
Duties to include:

• Grass cutting and mulching in meadows and fields
• Weed control
• Pest control
• Hedgerow maintenance
• Tree care
• Pond maintenance
• Fencing maintenance
• Organising contractors when needed
• Operating garden/farm machinery

• Applicants must have proven Groundskeeping experience, preferably from a private estate, farm or parkland.
• PA1 and 6 Spraying certification would be beneficial
• Proven experience in use of compact tractors and similar equipment for estate management is required
• Any Lantra or similar training certifications in the use of agricultural equipment and machinery would be beneficial
• Must be physically fit and strong - this is a physically demanding role so a good level of fitness is essential.
• Farming skills would be beneficial, with a good understanding of landscaping and ecology. 
• Candidates must be able to use a variety of tools and machinery
• Must have a valid driving licence and reliable transportation to and from work.
• Be fluent in English, with excellent communication skills. 
• A strong team player is essential
