HR & Recruitment Manager: Family Office
Central London
c. £140,000 depending on experience
One of our private clients, a single-family office, is seeking an experienced HR & Recruitment Manager to lead both the human resources and the recruitment functions across a discreet and varied private operation, spanning the Family Office itself, the principal's private households, plus other projects including marine and aviation. Reporting directly to the Head of the Family Office with real autonomy, this is a senior, hands-on appointment for someone who is equally strong on the two halves of the role: running a professional HR function across the full employee lifecycle, and personally leading recruitment to find and secure exceptional staff for a demanding, high-standards environment. It is a genuine dual mandate: this is not an HR role with occasional hiring, nor a recruiter who dabbles in HR, but a professional who has done both at a senior level and can own them together.
Responsibilities
Recruitment
- Lead recruitment end to end across the household, Family Office and yacht/private jet crew: defining roles, sourcing and assessing candidates, and securing the right people for a discerning UHNW environment.
- Build and maintain a strong network of candidates, agencies and sources across private household, family office and crew recruitment.
- Manage the full hiring process discreetly and to a high standard, from search through offer, referencing and onboarding.
HR and employee relations - Own the full employee lifecycle across the operation — onboarding, contracts, performance, development and exits — for a multi-site, multi-disciplinary workforce.
- Act as the trusted point of contact for the principals and staff on all HR matters, handling sensitive issues with complete confidentiality.
- Lead grievances, disciplinaries and terminations robustly and fairly, managing legal risk throughout.
Employment law and compliance - Ensure the organisation is compliant across UK employment law, contracts, policies and record-keeping, and keep practice current as the law changes.
- Advise the principals and senior team on employment risk and the right course of action on difficult matters.
About you - Extensive senior HR experience ideally within a Family Office environment, or UHNW household team (HR experience in an asset manager or wealth management role would also be considered).
- Equally, a strong track record in recruitment at a senior level, ideally within a family office or private household, or crew hiring (recruitment experience in an asset manager or wealth management role would also be considered).
- Strong working knowledge of UK employment law, contracts and disciplinary procedures.
- Exceptional discretion, professionalism and judgement, with the ability to manage highly sensitive matters in complete confidence.
- A credible, self-sufficient operator, comfortable reporting directly to principals and working across a discreet, multi-site operation.
- Office-based in Central London.
We appreciate your interest in this role. Please note, due to the high volume of CVs we receive, we are unable to respond to every application.
