A private household in Central London is seeking a highly responsible and experienced Houseman/Chauffeur/Security to provide all-around support, including driving, household maintenance and security. The ideal candidate must be reliable, discreet, and comfortable working in a household with children and pets.
This is a rota position, shared with one other person, to ensure security/house management duties are met 24/7, working seven days on/seven days off. Accommodation provided only when on duty.
Chauffeur Duties:
- Driving the family, including school drop-offs and pickups for the children
- Transporting principals safely to meetings, events, and social outings
- Ensuring the family vehicle is clean, serviced and well-maintained
- Run errands as required and assist with general household logistics
Security Duties: - Maintain a strong physical presence in and around the property
- Monitor CCTV systems, gates and access points
- Be responsible for the safe and secure locking up of the property every evening.
- Conduct regular perimeter checks
- Maintain daily security logs and incident reports.
- Supervise and log all visitors, contractors and deliveries to the property
- Assist with emergency procedures including fire alarms, evacuation protocols and first aid
- Being alert to any security risks and responding accordingly
Houseman & Handyman Duties: - Performing minor household repairs and general maintenance
- Keeping the grounds tidy and in good order
- Assisting with groundsman duties as required
- Support with care of family dogs, including occasional walks and feeding
Requirements: - Previous experience in a similar live-in role (Houseman/Chauffeur/Security)
- Valid UK driving licence with a clean record
- SIA Close Protection Licence (current and valid)
- Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to undergo one)
- Experience operating CCTV, intruder alarms and other residential security technologies
- Physically fit and strong.
- Fluent in English with excellent communication skills
- Background in security or personal protection
- Basic handyman and maintenance skills
- Pet-friendly and comfortable around children
- Trustworthy, discreet, and professional
- Right to work in the UK
Salary: c. £60,000 - £70,000 DOE
Working Hours: Rota, 7 days on/7 days off, 08:00 - 20:00.
Separate staff quarters provided (suitable for one occupant only) - when on-duty only.
