One of our private clients requires an exceptional and highly accomplished Private Indian Chef to join a fully staffed, prestigious private household based in New York City. This is a rare and outstanding opportunity for a consummate culinary professional to operate at the very highest level, delivering world-class Indian cuisine within an ultra-high-net-worth private residence.

The Role

The successful candidate will be responsible for the planning, preparation, and presentation of authentic and contemporary Indian cuisine to an impeccably high standard. Working within a fully staffed household, the Private Chef will be expected to cater for both intimate family dining and formal private entertaining, adapting menus to suit the preferences, dietary requirements, and cultural considerations of the principal family and their guests. The role demands creativity, technical excellence, and an unwavering commitment to quality in every aspect of culinary delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, plan, and execute menus of the highest calibre, showcasing the full breadth and depth of Indian cuisine, from traditional regional dishes to refined contemporary interpretations
• Source and procure the finest quality ingredients, maintaining rigorous standards in freshness, provenance, and seasonality
• Cater for all dining occasions within the household, including daily family meals, formal dinners, and private events, ensuring seamless, discreet, and professional service at all times
• Manage kitchen organisation, hygiene, and food safety to the highest professional standards
• Collaborate effectively with the wider household team, maintaining a courteous, professional, and cooperative approach at all times
• Accommodate dietary needs, allergies, and preferences with precision and sensitivity
• Manage kitchen inventory, ordering, and budgeting as required

Candidate Profile

The ideal candidate will be an experienced culinary professional with an exceptional background in Indian cuisine and a proven track record of delivering at the highest level. Candidates are sought from the following backgrounds:

• Extensive experience working for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, ideally within a private household or a private superyacht
• A background in Michelin-starred Indian cuisine would be preferred, demonstrating the highest technical and creative standards
• Deep and broad knowledge of regional Indian cuisines, techniques, and ingredients, with the ability to deliver both classic and contemporary dishes to an exceptional standard
• Proven ability to work with discretion, professionalism, and the utmost confidentiality at all times
• Experience managing a private kitchen independently, including procurement, stock management, and menu development
• Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work harmoniously within a large, professional household team
• Flexibility and adaptability to the dynamic requirements of a private principal family

Requirements

• Must be fully eligible to work in the United States.
• Candidates already based in New York City or elsewhere in the United States are strongly preferred; candidates based outside the US who are willing and able to relocate to New York at their own arrangement will also be considered
• Available to commence employment as soon as possible
• Able to provide exceptional professional references from all previous employments

Remuneration

A highly competitive salary in the region of $120,000-$150,000 per annum is on offer, commensurate with experience and background. A comprehensive benefits package will be provided and discussed with shortlisted candidates.
