Housekeeper

An experienced live-out housekeeper with excellent attention to detail is required for a private household in Chelsea which is kept to an exceptionally high standard.
 
There are two main principals, with visiting guests from time to time. This is a lovely role for a dedicated and committed Housekeeper, who enjoys working in a service role for a client who has a history of long term and happy staff.
 
The household is a large 3 bedroom property with additional guest apartments. Expectations are high and candidates must have a very good eye for detail and precision. You should be flexible, discreet, diligent, professional and able to turn your hand to most things required in a busy private household.
 
Working alongside one other housekeeper (who is live-in), you must be happy and willing to work under their authority, but should be able to use your own initiative and work alone when required. It is essential you are able to work to the client's exacting standards, therefore previous experience in private households is essential.
 
Duties will include, but not be limited to:-

• Cleaning - to a 5* hotel standard - all day to day cleaning in the entire property, plus bed changes and bed making
• Laundry - including hand washing, where required, taking specialist items to the dry cleaner, and ironing
• Ordering groceries and supplies and doing simple family style cooking
• Other online orders where required – essential you are computer literate
• You will have access to the household credit card and must be organised with filing receipts
• Taking meter readings, and submitting these to the PA
• Operating security systems such as burglar alarm
• Laying and clearing tables, and waiting at tables
• Greeting guests and visitors to the property and welcoming them warmly
• Keeping the property in excellent presentation at all times
• Handling contractors, overseeing any external contractors in the home and managing them efficiently where required
• Reporting and overseeing any maintenance issues
• There will be times when you will work alone in the property, if the principals are travelling, or if the other housekeeper is on annual leave, and it is important you are able to use initiative and be able to manage your time effectively so that the principals feel confident that their home will be taken care of
• Bright, on the ball nature, with the ability to pick things up quickly

English speaker essential, it would be a bonus if you also speak Spanish or Portuguese. If you like dogs, this would be helpful but not essential. There is no dog in the property, but the principals own a dog in their international residence and should the candidate travel with the principals, they will be working in a home with a dog.
 
Days/Hours: Monday to Friday,  9am - 6pm and Saturday 9am-2pm (with flexibility, for example longer hours may be needed if the principals are entertaining in the evening)
 
Salary: c. £40,000 - £45,000 DOE
