Full-Time Housekeeper - Private Family Home
Location: Near Knutsford, Cheshire
Monday to Friday | 08:30 - 15:30 (35 hours per week)
Start Date: April 2026
Salary: c. £30,000 - £35,000 
 
One of our private clients is seeking an experienced Housekeeper to join their household. 
 
The family home is a well-appointed property with four bedrooms, eight bathrooms, and a private gym. The household consists of two working professionals and their child. The family is looking for a proactive individual with a meticulous eye for detail who can take initiative and ensure the home remains immaculate, organised, and welcoming at all times.
 
The position may be offered on either an employed or self-employed basis, with salary adjusted accordingly.
Key Responsibilities
 
Housekeeping & Cleaning

• Maintain all surfaces, floors, carpets, furniture, and decorative features to the highest standards.
• Carry out thorough cleaning throughout the property, including bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, dining areas, and recreational spaces.
• Use appropriate cleaning equipment and products to achieve excellent results.
• Maintain discretion and respect the family's privacy at all times while adhering to household security procedures.

• Ensure the property remains tidy, organised, and aesthetically well-presented at all times.
• Manage all laundry duties, including washing, ironing, folding, and storing clothing and linens.
• Assist with packing and unpacking luggage when required.
• Monitor and manage household inventory, restocking supplies and maintaining basic records.
• Assist with food shopping, light cooking, and occasional errands to support the smooth running of the household.

• Previous experience in a private household housekeeping role.
• Discreet, well-mannered, and professional in approach.
• Exceptional attention to detail and pride in maintaining high standards.
• Strong communication and organisational skills.
• Confident presentation and a reliable, proactive work ethic.
• Ability to follow established procedures and household policies.

• The successful candidate must be physically fit and comfortable working a 35-hour week.
• Non-smoker preferred.
• You will be working alongside a groundskeeper as part of the household team.
