Travelling Nanny / Governess (Full-Time, Live-In)

One of our private clients is seeking an experienced Nanny to care for their daughter, aged two. The family is based in San Francisco, with homes throughout the US and who regularly travel to Europe.

Key Responsibilities Childcare & Development - Provide attentive, loving, and age-appropriate care
- Plan stimulating activities that promote language, creativity, and independence
- Support early learning through reading, arts and crafts, music, and educational play
- Encourage healthy routines and positive behaviour
- Manage naps, meals, hygiene, and bedtime routines
- Monitor developmental milestones and proactively suggest enriching activities
Travel Support - Accompany the family on frequent domestic and international trips
- Pack and organise the child's belongings
- Maintain routines across time zones and changing environments
- Coordinate travel essentials, snacks, toys, and educational materials
Household Collaboration - Work as part of a larger household team
- Communicate clearly with parents and other staff
- Maintain the child's wardrobe, toys, and nursery in excellent order
- Coordinate classes, playdates, and activities
Schedule This is a full-time position requiring full flexibility. The typical schedule is Monday to Friday, with additional evenings, weekends, and travel support as needed. Flexibility is essential.
Candidate Requirements - Minimum 7+ years of professional childcare experience
- Extensive experience with toddlers
- Previous experience travelling internationally with families
- Strong knowledge of early childhood education and developmental milestones
- Excellent references from prior employers
- Valid passport and ability to travel freely (US passport preferred but not essential)
- Clean driving record and willingness to drive
- CPR and First Aid certification
- Ability to swim preferred
- Background in Montessori, Norland, RIE, or similar educational philosophies is a plus
- Fluent English required; additional languages are a bonus
