Salary: c. £65,000 - £80,000 depending on experience 
Accommodation: Cottage on the estate.  Local, live-out candidates will also be considered. No pets allowed.
 
One of our private clients requires an experienced, hands-on Estate Manager for a substantial private estate in Surrey.
 
The Estate
Set within approximately 100 acres, the estate is currently undergoing a major renovation. The successful candidate will initially help project-manage the final stages of this work before transitioning into ongoing estate management. The estate includes several cottages, one of which may be offered as accommodation, along with a dedicated office within the newly built stables. The estate includes livestock, so candidates should be entirely comfortable within a working rural estate environment.
 
The Family
The estate is the UK base for a family of four whose primary residence is overseas. The principals are highly engaged in the detail, particularly around the renovation. They expect regular, proactive communication and want confidence that matters are being properly followed through. 
 
The Team
The Estate Manager will oversee and coordinate a team of around 7-8 staff and freelancers, including a Stable Manager, Groundskeepers, a Housekeeper, on-site security and weekend/freelance staff, as well as numerous contractors currently engaged on the renovation.
 
The Role
This is a hands-on position for someone who gets things done rather than becoming absorbed in process. The successful candidate will be:

• An experienced, genuinely hands-on Estate Manager
• Highly organised, with excellent prioritisation skills across competing demands
• Someone who spots what needs doing and acts without requiring constant direction
• Able to maintain high standards at all times, particularly when the principals are in residence
• A strong, proactive communicator
• Confident and experienced in managing staff, contractors and multiple projects simultaneously
• Comfortable operating within a rural estate with livestock
• Resilient, with the grit to thrive in a demanding, fast-moving environment

Hours 
Generally Monday to Friday, 9am - 5pm, with flexibility essential when the principals are in residence and around events. 
 
Accommodation
A cottage on the estate. No pets allowed. 
Local, live-out candidates will also be considered.
