About the Role
One of our private clients is seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated EYFS Teacher to join a privately owned kindergarten in Mumbai for a six-month maternity cover contract starting in January 2026. This is a fantastic opportunity for an early years educator who is passionate about play-based and inquiry-driven learning, and who thrives in a collaborative, international environment.
 
You will report directly to the Head of Learning and work closely with a supportive team of teachers and assistants to deliver high-quality early years education.
 
Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement detailed lesson plans aligned with the school's learning philosophy.
  • Participate in regular collaborative planning meetings with other teachers and the Head of Learning.
  • Organise materials, equipment, and classroom resources to create an engaging learning environment.
  • Integrate relevant technology into teaching and learning activities.
  • Share classroom responsibilities, including teaching and classroom management, with other staff members.
  • Monitor, assess, and document children's progress and development.
  • Communicate regularly with parents, providing updates on progress, strengths, and areas for development.
  • Build positive, cooperative relationships with parents and colleagues.
  • Engage with the local community to enrich children's learning experiences.
  • Ensure student supervision and maintain required teacher-to-student ratios at all times.
  • Observe and respond appropriately to student behaviour, fostering a nurturing, inclusive atmosphere.
 
Requirements
  • Early Childhood certification or equivalent educational qualification.
  • Experience in or strong familiarity with play-based and inquiry-driven teaching methodologies.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • A collaborative team player with a positive attitude and growth mindset.
