Salary: c. £35 per hour depending on experience.
Monday-Friday, approx 3pm-7pm
 
One of our private clients requires an experienced Part-Time Chef to provide simple, healthy home cooking for a private family household in Chelsea.
 
The Role
This is a part-time position of approximately 20 hours per week, ideally engaged on a self-employed basis. It would suit a chef who enjoys preparing fresh, nourishing, home-style food rather than formal or restaurant-style dining. The successful candidate will prepare a one-course lunch for five people each day, to be stored in the fridge for the following day, along with a freshly cooked dinner for three, served at 6.30pm. The role includes meal planning, grocery shopping, and keeping the kitchen workspace clean and tidy after cooking.
 
Key Responsibilities

• Planning varied, balanced weekly menus in line with the family's tastes and preferences
• Grocery shopping and sourcing fresh, good-quality ingredients
• Preparing a lunch for five people each day, cooked in advance and stored correctly for the following day
• Cooking and serving a fresh evening meal for three at 6.30pm
• Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, safe storage and labelling
• Clearing and cleaning the cooking area after each session, leaving the kitchen workspace immaculate
• Managing kitchen stock and keeping store cupboards well organised

Candidate Profile

• Proven experience cooking for a private family, or in a comparable home-cooking role
• Confident producing simple, healthy, home-cooked meals using fresh ingredients
• Well organised, with strong menu planning and time management skills
• Sound knowledge of food hygiene, batch cooking and safe chilled storage
• Tidy, methodical and respectful of a family home
• Reliable, discreet and professional
• Self-employed status preferred
• Right to work in the United Kingdom

Hours & Location
Approximately 20 hours per week, structured around a 6.30pm dinner service. Based at a private family home in Chelsea, London SW3. Engagement preferably on a self-employed basis; c. £35 per hour depending on experience.
